At 10:00 on Thursday 29 October 2026, Atlantic time, and they’re on sale now. The first tickets carry super early bird prices. After those, the price goes up, the way everything does.

• Day ticket: Saturday or Sunday
• Weekend ticket: both days
• VIP weekend ticket: 19 and over, with a place at the Saturday table
• 3-Festival Passport: all three festivals

Friday at the beach is included with every ticket.

Yes. Children aged 5 to 12 pay the child price, and children under 5 come in free. Afterland is loud after dark and dark after 19:00; the earlier hours are the gentler ones.

No. Prices are plus HST, and booking fees are added at checkout. The paperwork stopped in 2285, not in 2027.

By email, right after you buy. If they aren’t in your inbox, look in your spam folder. Show them on your phone, or bring paper, which still works when a phone doesn’t.

Tickets will not be sold at the gate. They will be available online until sold out.

No. Tickets are non-transferable. Afterland does not process name changes, ticket swaps, or transfers. Guests who give their ticket to another person do so at their own risk.

Buy from us, and only from us. We can’t honour tickets bought from strangers, and a copied ticket scans once.

Tickets are non-refundable. If we cancel the whole festival, we refund the ticket price.

Afterland runs in whatever October sends. A pause or closure for weather or safety isn’t refunded.

Friday evening: Parlee Beach, for First Fire.

Saturday and Sunday: the Neptune Drive-In grounds, 693 Route 133, Pointe-du-Chêne (Shediac), NB E4P 4Z9.

• Friday 1 October, 17:00 until midnight: First Fire at Parlee Beach, included with every ticket
• Saturday 2 October, 11:00 until midnight: the Neptune Drive-In grounds
• Sunday 3 October, 11:00 until 19:00: the last day, and the planting

Friday at the water’s edge. The fires are lit, the kettle goes on, and the telling starts. Tea is poured free, and poured for strangers first. First Fire is included with every ticket. It is an open gathering on the beach.

Saturday and Sunday: parking is a five-minute walk from the Neptune Drive-In grounds. Follow the signs and our guild.

Friday: park in the Parlee Beach lots. The provincial park may charge its own entry fee.

The beach and the Neptune Drive-In grounds are about 25 minutes apart on foot, or three minutes in anything that still runs.

Pick it up at First Fire on Friday, over breakfast at the WitZuit canteen at Parlee Beach from 07:30 to 11:00 on Saturday and Sunday, or at the gate from 09:00. Food tickets are sold at each of them.

Bring your tickets, and if you’re 19 or older and plan to drink, government-issued photo ID.

A valid government-issued photo ID: a driver’s licence, a passport, or a provincial photo ID card. We check once. After that the bracelet speaks for you.

Yes, as often as you like, with your bracelet on and intact.

Every bag is checked at the gate, and outside food and drink are set aside there. You’ll be handed tea; it’s poured for strangers first, and someone will ask your name when the cup is empty.

Everything is cooked by the Shediac Wonderland’s five kitchens, over fire where fire will do it. Hot food late, because the night is the part that matters, and something warm to hold between one fire and the next.

With food tickets. Every counter and the bar take food tickets only. Buy it:

• online, before the festival
• at First Fire on Friday evening
• over breakfast at the WitZuit canteen, 07:30 to 11:00
• at the gate from 09:00, and at the food ticket booths in the Neptune Drive-In grounds, which take cash, debit, credit, and tap

Food tickets are good all weekend and aren’t refundable.

Yes, and it is poured for strangers first. That is the oldest law we keep, and the only one we are sentimental about.

There are no price tags. Ask, and be ready for a conversation. Most vendors take cash and cards, including tap. There’s no bank machine in the Neptune Drive-In grounds; the nearest is across the street at the Gulf gas station.

Costume and salvage makers trade there too, so a coat that arrived plain can leave with a history.

No, with the usual exceptions: baby food, formula, breast milk, and anything you need for medical reasons. Bring an empty bottle and fill it at the water station.

In the licensed areas, if you’re 19 or over and wearing the bracelet. Our guild may refuse service to anyone.

No. Costumes are welcome from any ending, and the story was built with room. Turn up in a coat and nobody will look at you twice, which at Afterland is a kind of compliment.

Yes: at 18:00 on Saturday, and again at 18:00 on Sunday. The parade crosses the grounds, with prizes for the survivors who built something worth the walk, and a photo wall for everyone else. Nothing is asked of you but the costume you came in and the story you kept.

Colder than you think once the sun goes down, and the wind comes off the water. Layers, boots that survive wet grass, and a hat. The fires help, and they are not enough on their own.

Yes, if it looks like it survived something and does nothing at all. Masks, goggles, respirators, armour, and anything welded, patched, or wired to glow are all welcome, and they’re peace-tied at the Salvage Check on the way in.

No working blades. No firearms, and no replica convincing enough to be mistaken for one across a dark field. No fuel, no pyrotechnics, no live flame in a guest’s hands: fire at Afterland is lit by our guild and nobody else.

Our guild checks the thing, ties or tapes what needs tying, and clears it. It takes a minute. A prop that can’t be peace-tied goes back to your vehicle.

Yes, and you’ll be asked to lift it once at the ID check, and again if a guild member needs to see who they’re talking to. Otherwise, wear what the end of the world gave you.

Yes to both, especially at the fires. Keep them out of the paths and away from the fire rings themselves.

Everyday bags and packs are fine. Suitcases and oversized bags aren’t. Every bag is checked, and the full list is on our Rules of the Neptune Drive-In grounds page.

Daytime, yes: the market, the machines, the workshops, and the planting are for everyone. After dark it gets loud, and some of it is written for adults and marked 19+ in the program.

Yes. Strollers, wagons, wheelchairs, and mobility scooters are all welcome. The ground is grass and gravel, so wide wheels earn their keep.

At Parlee Beach on Friday, everything is reachable step-free, on firm ground. Wheelchairs can get onto the decks of the beach bars, though not onto the sand beneath them, so First Fire is best watched from the deck.

The Neptune Drive-In grounds are outdoors, on grass that can be uneven in places. Accessible parking and accessible washrooms are available, and the site is lit at night on the main routes.

From July 2027 an accessibility form will be on this page. Tell us what you need and we’ll have it ready before you arrive.

Both, and deliberately. Expect amplified music until late, fire performance, engines, and flashing light. Ear protection is a reasonable thing to bring, and the quiet edge of the Neptune Drive-In grounds is marked on the map.

No. Fire, engines, crowds, and noise are no place for a dog. Service animals are welcome; emotional-support animals and pets aren’t.

Yes, and they’re lit after dark.

Both, and a few things in neither. Most of the program is in English, some of it is in French, and the fires take whatever tongue the teller brings.

No. Friday is the fires at the beach. Saturday is the loud one: market, machines, and music until midnight. Sunday ends with the planting, and something green goes into the ground before anyone leaves.

They weren’t bitten. They were emptied. Say a word that means two things to one of them and watch it wake up, for about four seconds. Our performers play them; guests are welcome to try the trick on any of them.

Shediac and the surrounding area have hotels, cottages, B&Bs, and campgrounds, and October is the easiest month of the three to find a bed. Book early to be safe.

Ours is Le Griffon B&B, on Main Street, a short drive from both sites.
