Is Afterland family-friendly?

Daytime programming at Afterland is suitable for families. Children of all ages are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

After dark, expect amplified music, fire performances, intense visual themes, and limited lighting. Parents and guardians should use their judgment about what is appropriate for their children. The event is not recommended for very young children after dark.

Children’s tickets

Children aged 4 to 12: $35 + HST (day ticket) or $45 + HST (weekend ticket). Children under 4 get in free.

Strollers and wagons

Strollers and wagons are welcome on the grounds. Please be aware that the terrain is grass and can be uneven, and that the grounds are darker after sunset than a typical event site.

Pets and service animals

Service animals are welcome with proper documentation. Emotional support animals and pets are not permitted on the festival grounds.

What is there for families to do?

Activities vary from year to year. Planned activities may include the artisan market, workshops, the machines display, live music, and communal meals. A tentative schedule will be posted on our website and social media in the weeks leading up to the festival.

Are there 19+ events?

The VIP experience is designated 19+. Some performances and activities after dark may carry mature themes. These are clearly noted in the program. The rest of the festival is open to all ages.

First Fire at Parlee Beach

Friday evening’s First Fire at Parlee Beach is included with every ticket and is family-friendly. First Fire is our communal bonfire gathering on the shore, with food, drink, and music.
