Afterland · 1 to 3 October 2027

Take part

Afterland is built by the people who show up carrying something. If that’s you, here’s what we’re looking for.

Merchants and makers

Scavenged, reworked, repaired, and worn on purpose. Upcycled and patched clothing, leather, and denim. Masks, goggles, and respirators. Welded, machined, and cut metal. Resin and printed props. Anything that glows in a dark field. Patches, pins, and screen-printed shirts. Tattoo flash. Machine parts. Apothecary of dubious provenance. Curiosities of uncertain origin.

The test is simple: it should look like it survived something. New and shiny sells badly here.

Hosts and performers

Faction-shaped, participatory, and better after sunset. Fire performance. Vehicle and rat rod displays. Combat leagues. Survival and salvage skills. A runway of the scavenged. Tattoo and body art. Welding and fabrication. Faction camps that recruit the public into their own story rather than perform at them.

Being pulled in beats being shown, and anything that runs into the night is worth more to us than something that wraps up at six.

Musicians, DJs, and noise-makers

An explosion of sounds. Electronica and house, metal and funk, DJs and dance parties, industrial, synthwave, punk, brass-funk, drum circles, and anything that sounds assembled out of salvage.

This is the loud one, in the dark, in October, with fires. Curfew and sound limits are firm at the stage edge.

Volunteers

No lore required. Tell us when you’re free and what you’d like to do, and we’ll find you a fire to stand near.

How to apply

Merchants, hosts, musicians, and volunteers all apply through festivals.shediacwonderland.ca. Choose Afterland, then tell us what you’d bring.

One name will do.
